The problem we’re solving
Most deal sites show you today’s price at one or two retailers. That’s not enough. A 30% markdown can still be a worse price than the item was two months ago. Flash sales get hyped. “Limited time” prices are often the new normal. Without price history, you can’t tell the difference between a genuine discount and a marketing trick.
DealLens shows the retailers we can check, side by side, with historical price data when we have it. Our tagline is “See through the hype” because that’s the entire job: separate real savings from the theatrical kind.
How DealLens works
1
Search any product
We query Best Buy, Target, eBay, Steam, and other retailers in real time, grouping results by product model.
2
See prices side by side
The prices we find appear side by side. The lowest price gets a BEST badge. No hiding or ranking by affiliate relationship.
3
Deal score from real history
Every search we process feeds a growing price-history dataset. Over time, our LOWEST EVER / GREAT DEAL / FAIR / HIGH badges get smarter.
4
Community deals
We also aggregate deals posted to communities like Reddit's r/buildapcsales and r/GameDeals, so deal-hunter discoveries appear in one feed.
How we make money — honestly
DealLens is free to use. Our revenue comes from two places:
Affiliate commissions
When you click through to a retailer and make a purchase, we sometimes earn a small commission — at no cost to you. We participate in affiliate programs including Amazon Associates and the Rakuten Advertising network, among others.
DealLens Pro (coming soon)
A paid tier for users who want advanced features — unlimited price alerts, SMS notifications, full multi-year price history charts, and custom target prices. Most users will never need this.
Our promise:Affiliate relationships do not shape what we show you. If a non-affiliate retailer has a lower price, we’ll tell you and link you there. Hiding better prices to chase a commission is the dark pattern that got Honey in trouble — we won’t do it.
